Value Lives On

The best thing you can do for yourself as the week unravels is to add value to your life, as much as you can.

Because truthfully, it doesn’t take much for people to move on. They will forget you like you never existed; not because you died, but simply because you’re no longer in their sight. And once you're out of sight, you gradually become absent from their minds.

But your value?

Your good works?

They linger.

It’s no surprise when days, weeks, even months go by and no one checks in to ask, ‘How are you?’

People just move on as if you were never there, as if your presence never made a difference, as though your impact didn’t matter.

But here’s the thing: every now and then, someone will remember.

They’ll say, ‘Oh, there was someone who once did this or that…’

And that will be it.

People may not remember your name or how long you were in their lives. But they will remember the value you brought, the energy you carried, the lives you touched, the good you did, the love you gave.

That is what will represent you when you’re no longer around.

So don’t let it get to you when no one calls.

Don’t be bitter when no one praises you.

Instead, ask yourself:

Did I make an impact?

Will I be remembered for good or evil?

What legacy am I leaving behind?

The truth is, people don’t really forget you; they just don’t always reach out. But if you stood for something, if your presence left a mark, they will remember you. Maybe not every day, but at the right time, and in the right context.

And when that happens, you’ll realise you may be absent in body, but your memory lives on.
